Frequently Asked Questions

Where can I buy tickets for PonyCon?
Tickets can only be purchased through our website.

Can I buy tickets on the door?
No. Tickets must be bought through our website.

Is PonyCon suitable for children?
Yes! PonyCon welcomes fans and collectors of all ages, with a variety of events to suit the different ages and types of attendees.

Can I cosplay?
Yes! Cosplay is permitted and highly encouraged - we love seeing the amazing costumes bringing our favourite characters to life. Please read the Cosplay Rules for information on permitted costumes, weapons and props. For attendees wishing to change into costume at the event, we will have two changing rooms available.

How do I get a stall at PonyCon?
Please read about selling at UK PonyCon on our stalls page.

Will I receive my tickets in the post?
No, we do not send printed tickets. Instead, please print out your ticket order confirmation email or ensure that you have the email on a mobile device to show us when you arrive. You will also need to show us proof of ID matching the name on the order.

What do I need to bring to collect my tickets?
When you arrive at UK PonyCon, the person who placed the order will need to show us proof of ID (such as a passport, driving licence, other photo ID showing the PASS logo or a credit or debit card). To speed things up, please also have one of the following documents ready to show us (either printed or on a mobile phone screen):

If your ticket has been purchased for you by someone else and they will not be collecting the tickets, they should have entered your name in the "Additional Information" input box during checkout. If not, please ask them to email us as soon as possible and no later than 14 days prior to the convention.

If you arrive without valid ID or the name on the order does not match the name of the person collecting the tickets, we may not be able to admit you to the event.

Please contact us if you have any questions or concerns about this policy.

Can I sell my ticket? Can I buy a ticket from someone else?
No. Tickets to UK PonyCon are strictly non-transferable. Valid ID and proof of purchase is required to collect tickets.

In previous years we turned a blind eye to people re-selling their tickets, however we feel it is now appropriate to take steps to prevent this. We are worried that due to the high demand for a limited number of tickets, some individuals may choose to buy up large quantities of tickets for resale at a higher price, exploiting our attendees. Requesting proof of ID that matches the name on the order is a way of preventing this.

Please contact us if you have any questions or concerns about this policy.

Can I have a refund for my ticket?
We recognise that plans can change and have improved our refunds policy for 2017 to issue no-quibble refunds up to 31st July 2017. Please email us to request a refund. Requests received after this date will be considered on a case-by-case basis and may or may not be issued at the discretion of UK PonyCon.

Can I come and go from UK PonyCon as I please?
Yes! When you arrive at UK PonyCon we will issue you with a lanyard and badge to wear, which you can use to re-enter the event. Please make sure this is visible at all times within the convention.

Is there somewhere to leave coats or bags at the venue?
Yes! There will be a cloakroom operated by the venue. It will be open throughout the event and will charge a fee of £1.00 per item.

What are you doing to ensure the safety and security of attendees?
We will have qualified security and first aid staff on-site to ensure attendees have a happy and safe time at UK PonyCon. All attendees should expect to have their bags searched on entry and re-entry to the event. Attendees refusing a bag search will have their tickets revoked, will not be permitted to enter the event and will not receive a refund.

Do I need to accompany my child?
Children aged 13 and under will need to be accompanied by an adult aged 18 or over at all times.

We feel that attendees aged 12 and up will be able to experience the full convention much like an adult. However, due to the out-of-town nature of this year's venue, we feel it would be inappropriate for children aged under 13 and under to be left alone at the event, where their responsible adult may not be near by in case of need.

Can I bring my pet?
Unfortunately, our venue only allows assistance dogs (please see our access statement). For this reason we're very sorry, but we are unable to allow any other animals into the convention.

Can I trade with other people at the convention?
Pre-arranged trades and impromptu swaps are permitted, however advertising or displaying stock for sale or trade is not permitted unless you are a stallholder.

Will I be able to buy refreshments at the convention?
Yes! The cafe is open from 9am until 7pm on Saturday and from 9am until on 4pm on Sunday, and will be serving hot and cold meals, sandwiches and snacks throughout the day. The bar is open from noon until 10.30pm on Saturday and from noon until 5pm on Sunday.

Can I bring my own food and drink?
You can bring your own cold food and non-alcoholic drinks into the convention. Please use the bins provided for litter. Hot food and drinks can only be purchased from the cafe or bar. Alcoholic drinks must not be brought onto site from outside, but will be available to purchase from the bar.

Do carers go free?
Please read our access statement for information about tickets for carers and personal assistants.

Can I volunteer at the convention?
If you wish to volunteer please get in touch. You can email us or message us on our forum.

Is there a cash point or ATM at the convention? Do you accept card payments?
We recommend all attendees bring cash with them, as many stalls will not accept card payments. There is no ATM on site and UK PonyCon does not currently accept card payments at the event. We are working to improve this by looking into hiring an ATM and acquiring card terminals for UK PonyCon's own merchandise stalls, however this is not guaranteed at this point in time.

Can I smoke or vape at UK PonyCon?
Smoking and vaping is strictly prohibited within all buildings and enclosed temporary structures at UK PonyCon.

The prohibition on smoking and vaping does not apply to the grounds and open spaces, provided that smokers do not permit their smoke to enter a building or enclosed space through windows, doors or openings.
