Our committee work year-round to prepare all the behind the scenes organisation to make UK PonyCon conventions happen. While being on committee is different, and has different responsibilities than being a volunteer, please note, that being on committee is a voluntary position that is unpaid. The same as being a Volunteer is. You can view our entire current committee team for UK PonyCon on our web page HERE ! So, What roles are we hiring for? Let’s have a look…
Collectors Panels Lead
Purpose:
To plan, coordinate, and deliver all collector-focused panels and activities at UK PonyCon — with a focus on engaging G1 collectors specifically, but also more broadly ensuring events celebrate the full multi-generation history of My Little Pony. This has been a factor which we have had a lot of negative feedback on each year, so we are reaching out to find the perfect person. Who’s passionate about making sure we see more of every generation here at UK PonyCon!
Key Responsibilities:
Reach out via email and community channels to collectors (especially G1) to encourage panel participation and diverse content ideas.
Coordinate and support collector panelists before and during the event, ensuring they have all necessary information and resources.
Work with the Events Lead (EVL), DVL and External Events Lead to plan and schedule collector panels efficiently, avoiding clashes and ensuring smooth event flow.
Collaborate with Communications to promote collector panels and highlight community involvement across all of My Little Pony’s generations.
Develop new ideas for collector-related content, such as discussions, show-and-tell sessions, and Q&As, to keep programming fresh and engaging.
Liaise with the tech teams to ensure panels run smoothly and safely.
Foster an inclusive, welcoming environment that values all generations of collectors and encourages cross-community engagement.
Gather feedback after the event to identify improvements and new opportunities for future conventions.
Expected Qualities:
Strong written communication and organisational skills.
Confidence in reaching out to and liaising with community members.
Collaborative team player who can coordinate effectively with volunteers and panelists.
Enthusiasm for My Little Pony’s collector culture — especially knowledge or appreciation of G1 and earlier generations.
Children's Events Lead
Purpose:
To ensure that UK PonyCon offers a safe, engaging, and enjoyable programme of activities for younger attendees and their families. The Children’s Events Lead plans, organises, and oversees child-friendly events, supporting UK PonyCon’s commitment to being a welcoming and inclusive convention for all ages. Keeping in mind our Mission, Vision and Value’s statement found HERE
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and coordinate a range of child-focused activities that are fun, creative, and appropriate for a family audience.
Work closely with the Events Lead (EVL), Deputy Events Lead (DEVL), and wider team to integrate children’s programming into the overall event schedule.
Ensure all children’s activities are designed and run with safeguarding, accessibility, and inclusivity in mind.
Prepare clear event descriptions, materials, and speak to EVL about any required resources for children’s activities.
Liaise with volunteers running children’s sessions, ensuring they are briefed and supported.
Oversee the setup and smooth running of child targeted events during the convention, ensuring activities start on time and younger attendees feel welcome and safe.
Collect feedback from families and team members to help improve children’s programming for future events.
Expected Qualities:
As Pinkie Pie herself would say “Fun!” We are looking for someone who has a passion for My Little Pony - and the children and families who watch, collect and adore it!
Strong written communication and organisational skills.
Confidence in working within a team
Enthusiasm for keeping the magic alive for a whole younger generation.
